Poets Discuss Range of Complex Cultural, Racial & Social Issues

Caroline Randall Williams and Cathy Park Hong

The Asian American and Diaspora Studies program recently sponsored a successful fall webinar event with Cathy Park Hong and Caroline Randall Williams. The two American poets discussed a range of complex cultural, racial, and social issues, including the building of Black and Asian alliances, and overcoming a "cultural and economic oligarchy" that has contributed to the marginalization of the complex histories and voices of BIPOC individuals in the United States. Duke's daily student newspaper, The Chronicle, covered the event. You can read the article written by Mona Tong below. We have also provided a link to a recording of the event.
